Event description

To GM or not to GM?

To GM or not to GM? Genetic modification is highly contentious and is currently not permitted in New Zealand outside of tightly controlled conditions – but should it? What could a more productive, environmentally friendly ryegrass or disease resistant potato mean for our farmers, and what value might come from commercialising GM innovation vs. what damage might GM do to our food exports and brand New Zealand? Can the two sides co-exist? Come and hear what our talented young people think about GM: for and against.
